What is it like to foster?
Have you ever had a child that is not yours in your presence for longer than you are comfortable with? They have worn out their welcome a bit and are starting to get a little relaxed.... your son or daughter's friend comes over, or you have to babysit a while.... a neighborhood kid is at your house for too long...

That is kind of what it feels like, but much better. And much worse. You see, there are a million and one feels you feel when fostering a child. There are a million and one things to think about in one day. It is not a beautiful lifestyle. It is dirty and thankless. It is not appreciated or thanked by anyone except the social worker who can go home to her own family after you have relieved her of the duty to find the child in a foster home.
What do you think foster care is like? What are your perceptions of foster care? Who is the one person who will thank you for doing foster care? Post in the comments, and then watch the above video to find out.
